Keep a useful record of your internship.

Practicora

Practicora starts with a daily journal and connects hours, completed work, objectives and internship reports. The idea is to document each day as it happens, then find that record when it’s time to explain the experience.

A personal project in active development.

Behind the project

From the need to the development choices.

01

The starting point

Hours describe the length of an internship, but little of what someone learns. When notes and objectives live elsewhere, writing a review means reconstructing the context. I wanted to connect that information through the daily journal.

02

My contribution

I work on student workflows and how a recorded day becomes useful in a report. That means revisiting the Next.js/React interface, data relationships, permissions and languages with TypeScript and Supabase.

03

What the application brings together

  • Daily journaling with context, notes and automatically saved drafts.
  • A calendar and history for finding documented workdays.
  • Objectives, skills and insights connected to the internship record.
  • A report studio, compensation estimates and foundations for organisations and their roles.
04

Choices that shape the project

  • The daily journal is the starting point for reports and insights, keeping them connected to actual workdays.
  • Autosaved drafts and progressive forms make it easier to record work while the details are fresh.
  • Student workflows and institutional foundations have different needs. Language support and screen adaptation are part of their structure.

What this project is teaching me

This project is teaching me to look at the effort a product asks of the person using it. An overcomplicated form or a weak data relationship can make recording work harder; I try to spot them by returning to the full workflow.
